Play Spider Solitaire with the rules at hand

Treat this as a chance to practise one rule. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Select cards directly on the tableau and work through a full solo deal. Return to the explanation when a decision is unclear. Keep the active rule in mind. Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group. Check the relevant controls before continuing.

Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.

Build familiarity through play

Use the rule sheet as a reference. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

What the game asks you to do

Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Take the next action only when the current step is clear. A clear plan starts with the current position.

The playing sequence

  1. Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group.
  2. Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
  3. Complete same-suit king-to-ace runs to clear them from the tableau.
  4. Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.

Using the playing area

Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Check the relevant controls before continuing. For a calm first round, focus on one decision.

Try this example

A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.

A common point of confusion

Before making a move, check the cards in view. Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. The same rule applies on a phone and on a computer.
